Octopuszwammen ontdekt in de tuin - Octopus fungi discovered in the garden

Het strand van Camperduin

Bij goed weer gaan op fiets, met mijn tekenvriend 'Gumpie'. Samen met onze hond Tobey rijdt hij in een fietskrat. Voor hem is een speciaal kokertje gemaakt. Zijn belangstelling gaat vooral naar kleine vuurtorens. Wij wonen langs de kust, ongeveer 3 km van de Noordzee. Door een stuk bos en duinen is het ongeveer 10 minuten fietsen. Wij zullen regelmatig deze omgeving laten zien.
Deze week, 26 maart 2022, naar het plaatsje Camperduin.
Tijdens de stormen van afgelopen maanden is er veel zand van de duik Istanbul verdwenen. Duidelijk is te zien hoe krachtig de zee was. Naar verloop van tijd zal door de wind alles weer glad gestreken worden. Gumpie zag hoe deze vuurtoren dit 'overleeft' heeft!

En dan... op 1 april, geen grap, is er sneeuw gevallen. Gumpie heeft dit nog nooit gezien en samen hebben we een sneeuwbal gemaakt. Na een paar dagen was alles weer verdwenen.

Octopuszwam

Nu weer verder met mijn verhaal van Steampunky. 'Wat heb jij deze week gedaan?' 'Gumpie, naast de PADDOKWAL heb ik de octopuszwammen getekend! Deze zwammen waren de reden dat de PADDOKWAL deze tuin ontvluchtte. Zij pesten, in dit geval, kietelen hem voortdurend. Hij werd er gek van! Kijk en dit zijn ze!'
'Ja, ja, en die staan hier in jouw tuin!' 'Nou, ik moet er wel aan toevoegen dat deze tekening niet helemaal 'waarheidsgetrouw' is.... ze hebben geen ogen in werkelijkheid! Maar de rest van de tekening klopt wel!'

Gumpie bekijkt nog eens de tekening van de ingang van de paddestoelen tuin. 'Maak een grote illustratie van jouw paddestoelentuin. Als hij onder die boom vandaan komt, moet hij in een totale andere wereld komen. Een fantasie landschap!'
'Gumpie, briljant idee, ik beloof je dat ik die volgende week getekend heb!'
'Oh, en geeft die vuurvlieg paddestoel niet.....'

When the weather is good, go on a bike with my drawing friend 'Gumpie'. Together with our dog Tobey he rides in a bicycle crate. A special tube was made for him. He is especially interested in small lighthouses. We live along the coast, about 3 km from the North Sea. It takes about 10 minutes by bike through a piece of forest and dunes. We will regularly show this environment.
This week, March 26, 2022, to the town of Camperduin.
During the storms of recent months, a lot of sand has disappeared from the Istanbul dive. It is clear to see how powerful the sea was. In time, everything will be smoothed out by the wind. Gumpie saw how this lighthouse 'survived' this!
And then... on April 1, no joke, snow fell. Gumpie has never seen this before and together we made a snowball. After a few days everything was gone again.
Now on to my story of Steampunky. "What did you do this week?" 

Octopus Fungi

'Gumpie, I drew the octopus mushrooms next to the MUSHROOM! These fungi were the reason that the MUSHROOM WALLET fled this garden. They bully, in this case, tickle him constantly. It drove him crazy! Look and this is them!'

'Yes, yes, and they are here in your garden!' 'Well, I must add that this drawing isn't quite 'truthful'… they don't have eyes in reality! But the rest of the drawing is correct!'
Gumpie takes another look at the drawing of the entrance to the mushroom garden. 'Make a large illustration of your mushroom garden. If he comes out from under that tree, he must be in a totally different world. A fantasy landscape!'
"Gumpie, brilliant idea, I promise you I'll draw it next week!"
"Oh, and don't give that firefly mushroom..."

De irritante Hoody's op de spiraal paddestoel - The annoying Hoody on the spiral mushroom

Gumpie heeft mij vorige week heel goed geïnspireerd met ideeën over vreemde paddestoelen. De doolhofzwam is hier goed voorbeeld van. 

Wanneer Gumpie naar de pagina kijkt, moet hij enorm lachen. 'Wat voor vreemde paddestoel heb je daar getekend?' 'Dat is een 'Blue-belted Twiglet'. Ik ben dol op deze paddestoelen, ze verspreiden 's avonds een zoete geur. Een aantal insecten zijn hier helemaal gek op, vooral de perplex Hooded Grasshopper, oftewel de 'Hoody's'. 

Zij springen op de paddestoel, voor de geur. Die zit in de lamellen onder hoed van die paddestoel. In kleine groepjes springen ze boven op de paddestoel. 
Als hij een tijdje op de Twiglet heeft gezeten, ontstaan er kleine gele vlekjes op de kam. Dan gebeurd er iets grappigs... ze vallen er vanaf!' 'Zijn ze moe geworden', vraagt Gumpie. 'Nee, als je lang de zoete geur opsnuift, word je 
Gumpie kijkt me glimlachend aan. 'Oh! Maar dan weet ik nog een leuk onderwerp. 

'Vuurvliegjes zijn de spaarlampen van de natuur', maar hoe worden die opgeladen?' 'Gumpie, geen idee'. 'Volgende week zal ik me daarover verdiepen. Het wordt wel een heel bijzonder boekje van Mushy met zijn bevindingen in deze tuin'.
Paddestoelen zijn zeer inspirerend om er iets geks over te vertellen en te tekenen. Ik zal dit onderwerp nog uitwerken, daarna gaan we verder met het verhaal. Uiteindelijk moeten naar de 'Toeterbloem', waar het verhaal is begonnen. Volgende week weet je meer!'

Gumpie inspired me very well last week with ideas about strange mushrooms. The maze mushroom is a good example of this. Above page 52 and 53.
When Gumpie looks at the page, he laughs out loud. "What strange mushroom did you draw there?" 'That's a 'Blue Belted Twiglet'. I love these mushrooms, they give off a sweet scent in the evening. Some insects absolutely love this, especially the perplexed Hooded Grasshopper, aka the 'Hoody's'. They jump on the mushroom, for the smell. It's in the slats under that mushroom's hat. In small groups they jump on top of the mushroom. Xxxx image!
After sitting on the Twiglet for a while, small yellow spots appear on the comb. Then something funny happens... they fall off!' "Have they gotten tired?" asks Gumpie. 'No, if you sniff the sweet smell for a long time, you get 'high'. Then you see them fall off one by one'.
Gumpie smiles at me. 'Oh! But then I know another interesting subject. 'Fireflies are nature's energy-saving lamps', but how are they charged?' "Gumpie, no idea." 'I'll look into that next week. It will be a very special book by Mushy with his findings in this garden'.
Mushrooms are very inspiring to tell and draw something crazy about them. I'll elaborate on this topic, then we'll move on to the story. Finally have to go to the 'Toeterbloem', where the story started. You'll know more next week!'

 Vervolg van blog 12 maart

'Voor we met je verhaal verder gaat, hoe is het eigenlijk afgelopen met de PADDOKWAL die Steampunky heeft aangevallen?' 'Oh, die hebben de Eikelbijters met een net gevangen. Ze hoorden het stoomgeluid en het getoeter van de turbomotor. Hij zit nu met een groot net weer op zijn plaats. Als hij weer stevig in de grond zit, gaat het net er weer vanaf'. 

'Waarom wil hij weg bij zijn familie?' 'Deze kwallen leven bij het water en hij werd vaak gepest door de inktviszwammen. Die hebben we nu een andere plek gegeven!'

'Geloof je het zelf wat je nu vertelt?' 'Ja, zie echte foto van deze zwammen later wil ik deze 'echte' zwammen realistischer gaan tekenen. Met zuignopjes er aan. zo zie je maar wat er allemaal mogelijk is... gebruik je fantasie!
Vorige week had je mij een goed advies gegeven... maak inlegvellen achterin het boek. Daarin beschrijft Mushy opmerkelijke dingen met paddestoelen. Nou dat heb ik gedaan. Er zijn zoveel 'vreemde' paddestoelen, waar ik me zeker kan uitleven.

Wat denk je van de puffende aardsterren, die in een kring iets bijzonders doen!' 'Zeker een heksenkring'. 'Gumpie, beslist geen heksenkring, voor hun is het een 'vriendenkring'. Maar.... daar ga ik later mee verder. Genoeg over de tuinwachter van de paddestoelen. We moeten een nieuwe tuinwachter bedenken voor de muziekplanten'.
 Volgende week hoop ik een ontwerp te hebben én een naam voor de tuinwachter van de muziekplanten.

Last week you gave me some good advice... make inserts in the back of the book. In it Mushy describes remarkable things with mushrooms. Well I did. There are so many 'strange' mushrooms, which I can certainly indulge in. What do you think of the puffing Earth stars, doing something special in a circle!' 'Definitely a witch circle'. 'Gumpie, definitely not a witch's circle, for them it's a 'circle of friends'. But.... I'll get to that later. Enough about the gardener of the mushrooms. We have to come up with a new gardener for the musical plants'.

De doolhof paddestoel in de Magische Tuin - The wander mushroom in the Magic Garden

 Deze week is de ingang getekend naar de blauwe Fungus.

'Gumpie! 'Ik denk dat het wel genoeg is geweest met de paddestoelen van Mushy. Dan kan ik verder gaan met de muziekplanten'. Daar was Gumpie het niet mee eens. Hij had een briljant idee, dat wilde hij me eens rustig vertellen. 

We zijn samen naar het strand gegaan. Op een rustige plek heeft hij zijn verhaal gedaan.

'Vorige week heb je hele bijzondere paddestoelen getekend. Vooral de 'Swingzwammen' is leuk verzonnen. Daar moet je aan verder werken! Maak achter in het werkboek van Mushy een mapje voor een klein aantekenboekje. Daarin beschrijft Mushy de opmerkelijke en komische bijzonderheden met deze paddestoelen. Ik zal je een voorbeeld geven. Kijk, dit zijn bekende zwammen, de Saprofyten, oftewel de opruimers van het bos'.

Met dit prachtige patroon kun je iets leuks bedenken voor je tuinwachter; een doolhofspel'. Gumpie laat een foto zien van deze paddestoel. Ik heb nog geen idee wat ik hier mee kan doen. Met een uitleg begreep ik zijn idee. En wat denk je van heksenboter! Daar kun je zeker iets mee bedenken'. 'Gumpie, je idee is heel leuk én uitvoerbaar, maar ik zal er over denken'.

Swingzwammen aten Sprinkhanen - Swing Mushrooms ate grasshoppers

'Volgens mij heeft Steampunky genoten van het Handboek voor tuinwachters'. 'Gumpie, dat weet ik wel zeker. Hij heeft er heel lang in gekeken'. Ik wilde eerst nog een illustratie maken dat hij tot laat in de avond zat te lezen. Met 2 slapende ogen over het boek en brandende schemerlamp-paddestoel. Misschien teken ik die nog wel een keer. Voorlopig eerst een paar bijzondere paddestoelen in het boek. Beginnend met de Blue Fungus. 

'Wat staat er allemaal in?' 'Luister, deze paddestoelen komen oorspronkelijk uit de Abberantse Velden. 'Voor je verder gaat, waar ligt dat? 'Gumpie, dat ligt in Odisha, het oostelijk deel van India. Deze paddestoelen hebben nomadische eigenschappen. Ze blijven niet lang op één plek. Vooral de vrouwelijke fungussen'. Steampunky luistert met aandacht en vraagt niets meer. 'Deze reden dat ze naar andere plekken kruipen.... voedsel!'
'Wacht, nu draaf je een beetje door met je verhaal; een paddestoel die naar een andere plek gaat, voor voedsel!' 'Ja, en weet je wat ze daar aten..... sprinkhanen!'
Gumpie kijkt me nog eens aan en schut met zijn kop. 'Maar hier in de Magische Tuin hebben wij geen sprinkhanen. Mushy heeft ze allemaal omgeschakeld naar vegetarische voedsel, de pollen van de Bombass boom. Een flesboom die als vrucht een lila/paarse zoete bol produceert. Hij verzorgt een paar oude fungussen, die niet voor zich zelf kunnen zorgen.
'Nog meer paddestoelen die ik niet ken?'
'Naast de PADDOKWALLEN staat hier aan het begin van de tuin een aantal Swingzwammen. 

Die behoren tot de sensogroepen. Voor je vraagt wat dat zijn, zal ik je dat uitleggen. Deze paddenstoelen familie hebben een uiterst gevoelige kop. Zij leven net onder de grond, maar als ze kleine trillingen voelen, komen ze naar boven. Met hun zwaaiarmen trekken ze zich omhoog. Eenmaal boven de grond beginnen ze hartelijk te zwaaien'.

'Stop maar even met je verhaal, volgende week hoor ik wel meer over 'jouw' paddestoelen'.

A bottle tree that produces a lilac/purple sweet bulb as fruit. He takes care of some old fungi that can't take care of themselves.
"Any more mushrooms I don't know about?"
'At the beginning of the garden there are a number of swing mushrooms next to the MUSHROOM jellyfish. They belong to the sensory groups. Before you ask what those are, let me explain. This mushroom family has an extremely sensitive head. They live just below the ground, but when they feel small vibrations, they come up. They pull themselves up with their swinging arms. Once above the ground, they begin to wave heartily."
