De ANWB voor dieren - The AA Road Service for animals

 Gumpie, ik ga je een nieuw figuur voorstellen.. de stippenstamper.

'Wat jammer, ik vond hem net zo aardig en wat is de reden hiervoor?' 'Hij heeft het met de twee LongNose Woodsnuffers druk genoeg. Daarbij komt nog iets belangrijkers....... hij is bang voor de Slurper!' Maar voor we zijn 'vrienden' laten zien, vertel ik je wat zijn functie dit Bolletjesbos is'.

Wegbewijzering, zorg voor zijn allerbeste vriend 'de LovelyNose en de sluiper in de gaten houden.
'Kijk, hier onder zie je hem'. In zijn rechterhand houdt hij een verfkwast en links een stok met een hartje er op.

Hij is wat je zou kunnen zeggen de ANWB voor dit bos'. 'Nou, zo lang ik illustraties heb gezien, ben ik geen routebordjes tegen gekomen'. 'Dat klopt, want hij heeft een eigen manier van wegbewijzering.... witte rondjes met hartjes erin.

Ik zal het verhaal kort houden. Onder zijn schoen zit een rond vlakje, die schildert hij wit en stampt op een boomstam een wit rondje. Vervolgens stempelt hij er een hartje op, variërend in groen of rood.
Dat zijn voor de insecten, met name de mieren belangrijke tekens. En iedereen houdt zich er aan'.
Gumpie kijkt met een glimlach naar mij. 'Ik heb nog nooit een boom gezien met witte stippen en zeker geen hartjes er op'.
'Gumpie, in mijn verhaal wil ik geen foto's plaatsen, alleen illustratie. Maar op deze blog zet ik een foto van een boom met witte vlakjes. Geen idee waarom hij dat heeft gedaan.
Aanstaande woensdag zal ik meer vertellen over de betekenis van die harte stippen.
Ik heb nu even geen tijd voor je, tot woensdag.

'Gumpie, in my story I don't want to post pictures, only illustration. But on this blog I put a picture of a tree with white areas. No idea why he did that.

De terrible Pecker and the NoisyBoys

Deze week weer 2 pagina's gemaakt over Steampunky. 

‘Kom Streampunky, dit wil je niet missen, the NoisyBoys zijn al aan het oefenen. Het was een eindje verwijderd van het eikenbos. Ook Steampunky voelde dat er een totaal andere sfeer hing. ‘Nu we in het esdoornbos zijn zal ik je meer over deze boomfamilie‘.

'Wat een lang verhaal heb je gemaakt'. Daarom een korte samenstelling.

De esdoorn is vaak ‘anders’: het is boom met veel fantasie en originaliteit. 

Hij heeft hele andere eigenschappen dan de eik. Want hij is; eigenzinnig, gevoelig voor vleierij, een persoonlijkheid, wilskrachtig, rusteloos, intelligent, onafhankelijk en betrokken.

Wat ik er persoonlijk bij zou voegen is; zéér muzikaal.

Dat komt omdat zijn hout zeer hard is, vast en taai zodat het zich gemakkelijk laat bewerken. Tegenwoordig worden nog steeds veel snaarinstrumenten van het hout gemaakt’.

Steampunky wist niet wat hij allemaal hoorde over deze boom. ‘Alle alle boomsoorten zulke eigenschappen?’

‘Jazeker. Zie je die boom, terwijl hij naar een boom wees. Vanaf de wortels is deze boom in tweeën splitst en hij als een soort Siamese tweeling verder groeit. Zijn motto ‘twee weten meer dan een’ groeit hij vrolijk verder.

Vele boomsoorten hebben een volksgebruiken en mythes.Zo geloofde men dat de esdoorn bescherming bood tegen heksen. Zij zouden ook blikseminslag voorkomen. Tevens legde men esdoorntakken rond velden om mollen te verdrijven. In de Elzas probeerde men ermee vleermuizen op afstand te houden'.

'En dat moet ik allemaal geloven!' Gumpie, ik ga verder....

Dan horen ze plotseling geroffel. ‘Kijk, daarboven zijn de NoisyBoys al aan het oefenen’. Ze zien 4 bonte spechten bij een oude boom.

‘Wat gaan ze daar doen?’ ‘Straks timmeren ze met hun noten tegen een eigen gemaakt gat in de boom? Die gaten hebben verschillende afmetingen. Zo ontstaan verschillende klanken. De boom is het klankbord. 

'Krijgen ze daar geen hoofdpijn van?'

Nee, spechten kunnen dat, omdat de hersenen in een soort schokdempers zijn ingekleed’.

No, woodpeckers can do that, because the brain is 'clothed' in a kind of shock absorber.

Optreden van de 7 RobinSingers - Performance of the 7 RobinSingers

Deze week zien we eindelijk de 7 RobinSingers

Steampunky zag dat de moswachter ongeduldig begon te worden. 'We moeten nu echt naar de Woodsnacker gaan'. En zo namen ze afscheid van de Eikelbijter . 'Waarom zo'n grote haast?', vroeg Steampunky.

'Dat zal ik je vertellen. Elk jaar wordt er in dit bos een Ruizelfestival gehouden. Dat wordt georganiseerd door Woodsnacker'. 'Voor je verder gaat, waarom heet hij zo?'
'Die bijnaam heeft hij gekregen, omdat hij van alle bomen het beste kan 'Snackeren'.
'En wat is 'Snackeren', vroeg Steampunky. 
'Weet jij dat niet? Snacken is ruizelen. In het iepenbos is hij de beste in het ruizelen en zo heeft hij die naam gekregen'.
Terwijl ze naar het iepenbos gingen bleef Steampunky zich afvragen wat 'ruizelen' en het Ruizelfestival is. 'Ik snap er niets van je vertelt!'

'Het Ruizelfestival wordt altijd eind september gehouden. Tegen die tijd zijn de zaden van de iep rijp. Wij hebben hier het spreekwoord;

 'de bolletjeswind ruizelt door de iepenblaren'. 

'Oh, je bedoelt; door de wind hoor je de bladeren ritselen'. 'Steampunky, je hebt het begrepen! 'Kun je nog sneller met je turboskatebord?' 'Waarom heb je zo'n haast?'
'De Woodsnacker, die dit festival dit jaar organiseert, heeft me uitgenodigd om de voorbereiding te zien. Naast de bekende 7 RobinSingers doen dit keer ook de beruchte de Terrible Woodsnacker and the NoisyBoys mee'.
Ze waren op tijd in het iepenbos. Steampunky keek zijn ogen uit, toen hij 7 roodborstjes naast elkaar zaten te oefenen. 'Kijk, de leider van de groep vraagt aan Woodsnacker welk lied hij wil horen'. Niet lang daarna zongen de 7 RobinSingers uit volle borst.
De moswachter wilde niet meer horen, hij wilde naar de Terrible Pecker and the NoisyBoys.

'Gumpie, volgende week een spectarische optreden van 4 vogels en hoe ik deze illustratie heb gemaakt. Als bezoekers vragen hebben, stuur een mail naar me.

The moss keeper didn't want to hear anymore, he wanted to go to the Terrible Pecker and the NoisyBoys.

Optreden van de 7 RobinSingers vertraagd - Performance of the 7 RobinSingers delayed

Helaas was het niet mogelijk om vandaag, 11 september, een nieuwe blog te plaatsen. Reden: het gezelschap de 7 RobinSingers waren niet op tijd. Zij zouden vandaag optreden bij de WoodSnacker.

Gelukkig heeft de leider van de groep mij verzekerd dat zij a.s. donderdag zullen optreden. Vervolgens zal ik een update volgende week zaterdag plaatsen. 

Mijn excuses voor dit ongemak!

De eikenbijter en de vlinderuil -

Gumpie lacht; 'Zo, dit is nu Eikelbijter. Ik snap nu het eerste deel van hun naam LongNose. Heeft die boswezens allemaal lange neuzen?'

'Ja, allemaal en ik zal je met een paar kennis maken, zoals de Woodsnacker, de LovelyNose en natuurlijk de Slurper met zijn vriend de Bloemslurf. Hieronder 2 pagina's van mijn verhaal met een korte samenvatting'.

De moswachter vertelt over de Eikelbijter
'Hier woon ik, bij deze eikenboom'. Steampunky ziet een groepje paddestoelen met daarachter een verscholen holletje. Behendig springt hij er op. 'Kom verder, dan zal ik je alles vertellen over mijn vrienden de LongNose Woodsnuffers. Dit is mijn lievelingsboom, 'de eik'.
De eik is de belangrijkste boom onder de bomen, dat was al duizenden jaren geleden. Het werd geassocieerd met de weergoden, vooral de goden van bliksem en donder. Dat leidde vaak naar oorlog. Onze voorouders riepen de dondergod van de eik aan om met de kracht van de bliksem hun vijanden te vernietigen. Het is ook het symbool voor bescherming, duurzaamheid, standvastigheid, moed en kracht. Tijdens de middeleeuwen werd er onder een Eikenboom recht gesproken. Vervolgens wees hij naar een staf die aan de boom hing. Met deze staf bevestig ik de gemaakte afspraken.

Die neem ik mee, als we een bijeenkomst hebben'. 'Is dat jouw taak hier in het bos?'

Taken van de Moswachter

'Oh nee, er is hier veel werk voor mij, dat begint al in mei tot eind augustus. Het vangen van de groenuil'. Hij pakt een netje dat tussen de paddestoelen zat. 'Met dit speciale netje probeer ik uiltjes te vangen'. Dan schiet Steampunky in de lach... 'met een vlindernetje een uil vangen! Dat lukt je nooit!' 
De moswachter gniffelt van binnen. 'Hij pakt het netje, klimt snel in de boom, zwaaiend met het vlindernetje in zijn hand.

Niet lang daarna komt hij terug. 'Ik heb er één gevangen'. Als hij beneden bij Steampunky is, laat hij zijn vangst zien. 'Je zou een uil vangen en dit is een vlinder'. 'Dan heb jij nog nooit een gevlekte groenuil gezien'. 'Waarom moet jij die vlinders hier vangen'. 'Mijn vriend de Eikelbijter heeft een enorme hekel aan die vlinders. Hij moet er niet aan denken dat de boom overwoekerd wordt door honderden harige rupsen. Daar krijgt ontzettend veel jeuk van. Ik breng de vlinders naar een andere plek'.

Gumpie bekijkt nog eens goed naar de Eikelbijter. 'Ik vind het een knappe LongNose, alleen jammer van dat wratje op zijn neus'.

'Oh, daar kan ik op jouw blog iets bijzonders over vertellen. Klik op onderstaande link en dan begrijp je dat ik een katapult nodig heb!'

Task of the Mos Wachter

Not long after, he returns. "I caught one." When he's downstairs with Steampunky, he'll show his catch. "You would catch an owl and this is a butterfly." "Then you have never seen a spotted green owl." "Why do you have to catch those butterflies here?" 'My friend the Eikelbijter really hates those butterflies. He can't bear to think of the tree being overgrown by hundreds of hairy caterpillars. That makes it very itchy. I'll take the butterflies to another place'.

Gumpie takes another good look at the Acorn Biter. 'I think it's a handsome LongNose, just a shame about that wart on his nose'.
