‘Ja Gumpie, maar dan iets speciaals!’ Geïnspireerd door de komische tekeningen van Mushy, de tuinwachter.

'En dat is?' 'Jij gaat voor mij op zoek naar speciale paddestoelen'. Gumpie kijkt me nog eens vragend aan.
Van echte paddestoelen maken we illustraties. Alleen we gieten er een komisch ‘sausje’ over. Daarbij een omschrijving van deze ‘nieuwe’ paddestoel. We beginnen met de inktzwam.
Die is voor Mushy héél belangrijk.
Maar we beginnen met de originele inktzwam.
De geschubde inktzwam (Coprinus comatus) is een van de meest voorkomende van de honderd soorten inktzwammen die in Nederland voorkomen. In de jeugd is de 5-15 cm hoge hoed van de geschubde inktzwam ei- tot klokvormig, wit met een lichtbruin, glad centrum en bedekt met grote, omgekrulde schubben.
De hoed scheurt later vanaf de rand in en vervloeit tot zwart.
De holle steel is 10-20 cm hoog met een lage, beweegbare, vrij snel afvallende ring. De lamellen zijn wit in de jeugd, later vanaf de rand verkleurend via roze naar zwart.
Een jonge geschubde inktzwam smaakt uitstekend, maar moet wel direct na het plukken verwerkt worden.
De zwam is niet meer eetbaar wanneer verkleuring optreedt.

Ondertussen dat ik hiermee bezig was, had Gumpie zijn taak begrepen. Hij vond een paddestoelen familie voor Nr.2

Now the description of this 'new' mushroom. We'll start with the ink fungus. That is very important to Mushy. But we'll start with the original ink fungi.
The scaly ink fungus (Coprinus comatus) is one of the most common of the hundred species of ink fungus that occur in the Netherlands. When juvenile, the 5-15 cm high cap of the scaly ink fungus is ovate to bell-shaped, white with a light brown, smooth center and covered with large, curled scales.
The hat later tears from the brim and fades to black.
The hollow stem is 10-20 cm high with a low, movable ring that falls off fairly quickly. The gills are white when young, later discolouring from the edge through pink to black. A young scaly ink fungus tastes excellent, but must be processed immediately after picking. The fungus is no longer edible when discoloration occurs.
